I seriously LOVE this side table! It’s possible that I’m biased, but what can I say? He has a lot of character and functionality packed into such a small space. Some of that functionality was there when I bought him…such as the fact that his top spins all the way around. How cool is that!
So here is the scoop! The top was painted in multiple layers of chalkboard paint. You can write a message, keep track of your score, play tic tac toe, play chess and much more. He will even hold a board game. The possibilities are endless! I can just see Ludas sitting between two or four people playing endless games and making memories. On an all weather porch…oh my! Year round fun!
Did you see those awesome arrows? They wrap all the way around and that is the wood showing through. I created an arrow and hand cut a stencil for it, applied them to the sides of the top and then painted over it. I have this fascination/love with arrows…which is quite obvious from my tattoo post. For the corners the arrows are half-way on each side. Almost like the table is in perpetual motion, at least that’s how I see it. Anyhow…maybe I just have a vivid imagination…
The bottom was painted in a fabulous green color…which just say’s “I’m alive!” It’s an earthy, but not dirty, color that’s full of life! Then the green and the bare wood were sealed in multiple layers of poly for durability!
I can see Ludas sitting amongst chairs with seat cushions in a floral or feminine pattern. Here’s a picture of a fabric that might work.
I think it would be lovely! Maybe I’m crazy….am I? Oh, and I haven’t decided whether or not to sell Ludas or keep him. What say you? Keep or sell?
If I do end up selling Ludas, I will list him in my Etsy shop and announce it on my facebook page.
xoxo
